I think this is a more likely explanation. I use a non-OpenGL
screensave with KDE, and I let my sessions run for days or
weeks at a time successfully, only bringing them down when I
want to boot a new kernel or try a new version of KDE or
something like that. I have 1G of memory, but I only use a
fraction of it. ---scott
Looks like it's time for a reboot and go non GL for a
screensaver. I'll post back in a couple of days
It's not just kde, I use window maker now ( I do have kde
installed thought) and have the same problem with GL. I use a
nvidia card, btw

yup. Never winter Nights will lock up if the screen blanker comes on,
btw. I stepped away while I was paused and when I came back it was
locked up. At least I had saved the game before that, but it's annoying.
When I do top, there will be a large chunk of them memory just used,
with no apparent program using it. That sounds like something isn't
cleaning up after itself, doesn't it?
