Hi all,
how can I install the Java plugins into Mozilla 1.2.1? I've created symlinks named libjavaplugin.so in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins to the different plugin binaries from Sun's jdk 1.4.1.02 and Blackdown 1.3.1, but none of them works. (I've tried only one at a time). The NS4 plugins at least show up in the list of plugins, but garbaged characters make me believe that it wouldn't work properly. The other plugins don't even show up.
Any ideas/hints/recommendations? Your help is greatly appreciated. Regards,
I'd suggest trying the latest dev-java/blackdown-jdk, version 1.4.1 to be specific. It is compiled against gcc 3.2 (as was your Mozilla, I presume). It has a java plugin for mozilla as well and it works fine for me.
You'll have to emerge it with: ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge blackdown-jdk
...as the package is still not fully tested.
