I spent numerous hours last weekend trying to get gentoo to boot completely from a promise raid also. It saw the bood drive and started the kernel just fine finally, but I could never get it past the root filesystem. kernel panic every time. tried both gentoo and ac sources etc. I finally gave up, put everything on the regular ide channel, then mounted the raide after the fact. kev -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
