You could have typed in the wrong info into /etc/fstab (hda3 instead of hda5).

Just boot from the install cd
mount /dev/hda5 /mnt/gentoo
and check /mnt/gentoo/etc/fstab

If it still panics check that you have support for your partition compiled into the kernel (reiserfs etc)

No, I have all right typed; I compiled all the suports, reisers, xfsutils, and the other one O:-), all what I have seen in the installation.txt. Is there a way to get the messages of the kernel send about the kernel panic?, that could help.

Hi, I'm new installing linux from zero, I make all the steps in the installing text, and after I reboot,
I got a error of kernel panic about I must specify what kind of mount for the hfs I need,
in the /dev/hda3, I only have hda1 for boot, hda5 for root partition and hda6 for swap,
what do you think I made wrong?
