IMHO, you should never do stuff like `emerge -u world` automatically (if you are using ~x86). Sometimes stuff gets unmasked that shouldn't be (the most famed being glibc and gcc) and stuff breaks. I would not recomend doing `emerge -u world` without doing and closely examining `emerge -up world`. -- Zack Gilburd http://tehunlose.com
