Having sorted my procmail troubles I'm facing a new kind of difficulty with courier-imap that I did not face with cyrus-imap.
Frequently, when I'm using an imap mail client (Outlook Express on Windows, Mozilla Mail on Gentoo) with courier-imap I get errors from Mozilla Mail that say the maximum number of connections has been exceeded and that I should reduce the number of cached connections. Outlook express says that the mail server has terminated the connection prematurely and also that the Inbox folder could not be polled for its unread message count.
Why are the number of connections allowed so low and why does it terminate connections prematurely with Microsoft email clients? Or are these errors indicative of some bigger issue?
I'd appreciate help on how to better configure courier-imap. Cyrus, my previous imap server, worked fine and I would like courier-imap to work properly now that I've made the move.
