Hi sorry for the other message,
I've got a couple of questions...
each time i boot my laptop, ive got to open /etc/X11/XF86Config as root and close it. if i fail to do that, my mice (the touchpad and the ps/2 mouse) keep going on the lower left corner and doing like a right-button mouse click...anyone knows a way to solve this?
My usb mouse does this when I plug it in. No idea why yet, but I dont see how your solution would have any effect.
one thing i would like to know is how to make gentoo perform an hdparm -d 1 /dev/hda automaticaly on bootup cause now, ive got to do it manualy upon each bootup
Try adding the hdparm service to your default runlevel. Options for this are in /etc/conf.d/hdparm and the file is fairly straight forward.
same goes for internet, i got to perform an dhcpcd eth0, i tried things with rc-update but none achieve to solve my problems...
emerge ifplugd, it is a very handy utility. It checks link status on ethernet devices. For pcmcia network cards, add the pcmcia service to your default runlevel. It will bring network devices online automagically.
is there a way to know how much power my batterie got left? (somewhere in /proc?)
You must be using apm or acpi to do this. /proc/apm carried this info for the former, /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/info for the latter.
There are many applets, programs, utilities, etc. for X and such that handle displaying battery status.
