be glad, because the packs where developers (upstream) think they should
work have them, and other packs that break with it will keep breaking
because its a lot of overhead to try and debug insane combinations of
useflags for other packages.

Yep, in packages where -O3 has been reported to cause trouble, that is
stripped inside the ebuild.
