Well, maybe I need to file the bug then... I was sick of trying about 20 different 
ways to compile gcc -r6 from -r3.. so I injected r6 and it autocleaned r3... 

So, I had to figure out real quick how to compile it.. It all works now, but thats 
what happened to me.

Uh, if portage cleaned out packages because a newer version was injected, then 
that's a bug.  That is not supposed to happen because injecting is a common 
solution to "I don't want to upgrade this package because it's HUGE and 
they're is nothing wrong with the version I am using"-syndrom.
