i�ve got a big problem with the grub configuration...
fresh gentoo-installation.
here my partitions:
/dev/hdd1 /boot ext3 noauto,noatime 1 1
/dev/hdd3 / ext3 noatime 0 0
/dev/hdd4 none swap sw 0 0
/dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,ro 0 0
/dev/hda5 /mnt/progs vfat auto,umask=000 0 0
/dev/hda6 /mnt/media vfat auto,umask=000 0 0
/dev/hdd5 /mnt/fshare vfat auto,umask=000 0 0
i read the HowTo in the gentoo forum, but it doesn�t work...
i�m using the WinXP NT-Loader to boot either XP or Gentoo, which works
fine.
BUT when grub is starting, the problems start...
to boot gentoo, i entered at the grub-prompt:
root (hd1,0)
kernel (hd1,0)/boot/kernel... root=/dev/hdd3
initrd (hd1,0)/boot/initrd...
but grub keeps hanging while booting...
i already tried different settings for (hdx,y), one time it bootet
correct, but after a reboot it crashed while booting...
i hope someone here can help me please..
