        As I remember, shoutcast was set up to give the option to save the 
stream, as well as play it I chose where to save it. It was a Red Hat 
7.2 box  maybe it was some konqueror setting? At that point in my 
Linux carreer, I didn't mess much with things that worked. It's been 
a long time but I think I remember being able to set the maximum file 
size. I set it to 650 Megs and burned CD's after that first lesson, 
then deleted the file. I never did figure out how to cut the stream 
into individual songs.
        As far as other streaming broadcasts, I'm sorry but I don't listen to 
that much music these days. All the stuff I like was recorded when I 
was a kid on those cylindrical things. I even had to crank the old 
Edigraph until I trained the mule to walk at a constant speed on the 
treadmill. These days, Old Bessy is mostly retired though I do use 
her and the treadmill as a UPS
