KPPP just calls pppd with the required options. > Anyways, I would like to use ppp from the command line because it looks as > though when KDE uses kppp that it demands a crap load of resources. pppd is using a shocking 0.1% of memory and squat all cpu on my router with 512meg of ram and athlon 800 (yeah, I know, old router died, and this box wasn't doing anything), and I can just forget about it. > I just found an awesome link that will hopefully help me out here. > > http://www.unixguide.net/linux/faq/07.11.shtml > > I'm trying to get away from using the gui as much as possible so that I'm > forced to learn the hard way hoping that I'll learn more doing things like > this. :D Good lad. Knowing the "hard way" is always a good idea. Just watch out for where things are logged, I spent ages trying to figure out what was wrong, then realised the important stuff was being split between debug and messages/ppp. I really must kick syslog into touch some day. - -- Mike Williams -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/XHARInuLMrk7bIwRAtARAKCAgFrKOQEtTeDb1kpmmVDpvyMgpACeLEKf r3TJ1sdBZJZbr6l5627oBIQ= =3Mge -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
