Yep, it will be. KPPP just calls pppd with the required options.

pppd is using a shocking 0.1% of memory and squat all cpu on my router with 
512meg of ram and athlon 800 (yeah, I know, old router died, and this box 
wasn't doing anything), and I can just forget about it.

Knowing the "hard way" is always a good idea.

Just watch out for where things are logged, I spent ages trying to figure out 
what was wrong, then realised the important stuff was being split between 
debug and messages/ppp. I really must kick syslog into touch some day.
