Two ways occur to me: 1. follow the docs to set up your internet box as a gentoo mirror facing the internal network: will require running services you may not want to run on that box, even temporarily. 2. set up a second firewall script that you run just over the timespan for syncing and downloading (emerge -f) via ipmasq 3. IPtable rules to open a portforward for rsync/http/ftp as needed 4. Use http to get a copy of the current portage from the archives, and use another method to get the tarballs
