I might as well chime in to the fun :) I have run reiser on several machines. The only one that I had problems with was an older Pentium 233. For some reason whenever that box would get under heavy I/O load I would end up with a kernel panic. Finally, after trying everything else, I switched the file systems over to ext3 and the box has been solid ever since. As far as corruption goes, when the kernel paniced, I would occasionally end up with garbage in /var/log/messages. That was the only corruption I noticed, but it was certainly possible that there were other files corrupted that went unnoticed. Interestingly, the other newer machines never have had a problem.
