Thanks for this. But it looks like it was a random CD problem. I 
monster command again on a new blank CD and it worked.

Any idea how to get nautilus to do this ? [I am planning to install
configure and setup Gentoo for some non-geeks as well]

I tried vanilla "Mail-SpamAssassin" which didn't give anything. However,
on doing a search on 'spam' as you suggested, I got the package name as
'dev-perl/Mail-SpamAssassin' which got emerged (and is now getting
installed)

Lol. Yeah, I know that. As, a I said I have some ambitious plans to
install and configure gentoo for some non-geek friends of mine who are
running celerons. Was just asking whether there is a 'Gnomish' way of
doing things.
