Hmmm... Just checked out kdemultimedia-3.2.0-beta1.ebuild. The commented depend on alsa-lib has been completely removed, yet the alsa use flag is checked and the configure parameters updated accordingly. i.e. if this is the first emerged package to use alsa, it will die. I have the alsa use flag set and already had alsa-lib installed, however, and the build went fine and is showing ALSA in the control panel so I guess all is well.
