Just a side note. I'm using kernel 2.6.0_test8, and alsa support is now builtin
in the kernel source tree - alsa-driver is no longer needed. There is at least
one new release of the alsa-driver code that is not available on 2.6.0, since
the kernel is in final lockdown for release of the 2.6.0 kernel (December?)

I'm in no hurry, since the workaround is simple.

Also, I could never get the card to work on 2.4.x with alsa-driver. I suspect
that the same problem existed there, but I have no interest in reverting to a
2.4.x kernel just to work on this trifling issue. I only discovered the work
around after moving to 2.6.0_testn.
