Ah thats interesting, I just logged in from the machines console and it works!
but connecting via ssh from here dosen't !
(I just recompiled openssh to make sure it had ldap support - I added ldap
to my make.conf a little while ago)
Ahh! I think SSH changed its default configuration so that it would not use pam by default. You have to change/add a durective (UsePAM) in /etc/ssh/sshd_config and then restart the daemon.
It should work after that.
