Your problem sounds like a PSU problem to me (this or some capacitors, that are getting old). If the PSU is driven near the top end of its specs or a little bit older, hearing any disk-and memory-access is not uncommon (at least, not for me. Replacing a cheap noname PSU with a not so cheap Enermax PSU solved my 'noise in the sound' problem).
