The double ooffice menu is caused by the openoffice ebuild copying menu 
entries into /usr/share/applnk and the OpenOffice.org setup (which you must 
run to setup OpenOffice for your user) copying the same entries into 
~/.kde/share/applnk
  I usually just remove the entries in /usr/share/applnk, since that way I 
won't have to do it every time a new user decides to use OOo.
