You didn't by any chance update gcc as well? Anyway, the problem probably isn't KDE, but XFree. (you could try and see whether startx works) Check through the XFree log (/var/log/XFree86.0.log). -- Jani-Matti H�tinen "Mumbo? Perhaps. Jumbo? Perhaps not."
