So, in other words no version of portage should ever be marked stable. Writing 
a piece of software that doesn't just work flawlessly, but also anticipates 
all possible user errors is, quite simply, impossible. Unless of course the 
software is something like helloworld. (Although, even then someone could try 
to run it in X, or another OS)
