Its just that I dont know why ACPI tends to slow down my machine a lot, for example ripping a dvd to xvid using transcode using 2.6.2 with ACPI off gives me ~25 fps, but when I put ACPI on and repeat the test the frame processing rate is ~ 16fps :( Is it a bug in my bios/chipset or a inherent problem with the linux 2.6 kernel or a inherent problem with ACPI itself?
