Seriously the only real value I see in this is for someone to search for security holes by looking at the source. Otherwise I see no reason anyone should be interested in Mickey$oft code.

Doesn't "sheer curiosity" count as a reason then? Though I wouldn't want to risk a lawsuit just for curiosity, so I'll just wait for insider comments!
