Not specifically. I was told recently that new versions put into portage are 
always masked as unstable for 30 days before becoming masked. I don't know if 
that's what's going on here, but I do know that, at least, gtk-qt-engine 
seems to work fine. You can unmask it by putting
x11-themes/gtk-qt-engine ~x86
into your /etc/porage/package.keywords file.
