[gentoo-user] Name error / PF is null???

I'm running kernel-2.4.26-epia1 on a Via Nehemiah mobo/CPU.
When I attempt to emerge an ebuild of xorg-unichrome, I'm getting  the following error:

--- No package digest file found: /urs/local/portage/x11-base/xorg-unichrome/files/digest-xorg-unichrome-6.8.0-r27
!!! Type "ebuild foo.ebuild digest" to generate it.

So I type:

ebuild xorg-unichrome.ebuild digest

and get the following error:

!!! Name error in unichrome
!!! Error: PF is null 'xorg-unichrome' ; exiting

What the heck does that mean?!?!
