You'll need to be a bit more specific. If you don't need 3D or just need
some light 3D, then there are lots of cards out there.

If you need hardware decode support for video - playing DVDs, VCDs, SVCDs
or doing PVR style functions, the choices narrow and the cards get more
expensive - +$50US.

If you need 3D graphics for gamming, there are a good variety of cards from
either ATI or Nvidia, each with it's own set of issues.

If you need 3D for HDTV, rendering, CAD, CAE, etc. the choices widen up
a bit more - 3DLabs, ATI, Nvidia.

And then there is high quality 2D w/3D support for Air traffic Control and
medical imaging, where the choices again change to other companies - Tech
Source.

So what sets of tasks will you be trying to emulate on this test box?

And at what resolution? Eg. - some 16x9 formats don't work well with some
of the drivers. And how many screens, graphics cards ?
