Odd, all of my gentoo installs have been stage1, and I don't think I have had any major problems that weren't my fault [1]. I'd really be disappointed if they did away with it. In particular, how can one change their CHOST after bootstrapping?




# emerge depclean
>change your flags
# emerge -ev world

and your are ok again

[1] I blew away /var once, that was bad.
