Hi List-

Anyone know where in Gentoo I can find any of these packages or binaries?

Info from rpmfind.net:
package console-tools with binary consolechars;
package initscripts with binary /bin/doexec (as found in redhat);
package mktemp with binary mktemp.

I've searched the list archives and portage ebuild files. I found a thread discussing kbd vs. console-tools but it didn't help me figure out how to install console-tools. I also found mention in some of the usermode and vanilla linux source ebuild files about console-tools being necessary to resolve "...the loadkeys fiasco...", but still not helpful in getting it installed. Searching Google, I found a discussion that described a sys-apps/console-tools package in portage, but I see none in the current portage.

I can't find anything on either doexec or mktemp binaries. rpmfind.net shows them coming from an rpm called initscripts (for doexec) and an rpm called mktemp (for the binary mktemp), but I don't see any candidates for these in Gentoo.

I have a system of uncertain origin that has some functionality that I'm trying to reproduce with a Gentoo system. The unknown system is apparently based on redhat (it has a redhat 7.3 kernel) and it contains these binaries and I'm not certain where it uses them, but I thought that any Gentoo-implementation of a system performing similar functionality should have all of the unknown system's binaries at a minimum.

Thanks for any pointers.

-Kevin
