  That is what I would do if I had absolutely no console option.  Then
again, it was one of the reasons I switched away from Win98SE approx 5
years ago.  Console text programs were starting to vanish in Windows
even back then.

  I can do inverse video in Blackbox, which is my preferred GUI.  I have
Gnome installed so I can run Gnumeric, Gimp, AbiWord, etc.  However, the
Gnome *DESKTOP* (and it's KDE counterpart too) are painfully slow on my
450 mhz PIII Dell with 128 megs of RAM.  I use my computer to run
applications, not to run "desktops".  I bought the machine September of
1999, and I intend to keep it going for another year or two.
