Just in case anyone else has the same problem... On Tue, 2005-03-01 at 15:00 +0930, Iain Buchanan wrote: > All my wine apps are for some reason using a language or font that I > can't understand!
after much playing around and semi-fruitless google searching, I saw this article: http://groups.google.com.au/groups?hl=en&lr=&selm=b3e6211roidvmplq822kiadp86ptc2rup5%40bali.wallam which said: As explained several times before: wine likes to use ttf fonts stored in c:\windows\fonts. Only when there is absolutely nothing to be found there, it will use the fonts available from your X-server. A single font file in c:\windows\fonts there (like Tengwar) will cause that font to be the only font available." I thought as a wild stab in the dark, (even though it was empty) I would copy /usr/share/fonts/TTF/Vera.ttf to .wine/fake_windows/Windows/Fonts/ and guess what? Now all my apps start in english!! although I don't really know what strange wine font search order was causing the original behaviour... -- Iain Buchanan <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- [email protected] mailing list
