Its probally a setting in you /etc/conf.d/clock file.
Change CLOCK="UTC" to CLOCK="local"
Let us know if this works.

you mean ../usr/share/zoneinfo/EST5EDT (inverted EDT EST)? generally I use ../usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Rome so don't know if it's what you want
