Not even a live cd that doesn't even use the hard drive unless you order
it to? That's very strange if true. If your Gentoo install CD won't
boot, perhaps one of the many others will.

I've tried ide=nodma, ide=dma, hdx=stroke and all the other options.
The CD (Universal LiveCD 2004.3, x86) boots fine on every other machine
I've tried it on. If there's a way to capture output before the kernel
loads, I'd post that.
