* You do not need the ALSA driver package with 2.6 kernels
because the drivers are now included in the kernel
* Disable all OSS stuff in the kernel
* Enable ALSA in the kernel
* run alsaconf from the alsa utils package
* add ALSA to your default runlevel
BTW: Whenever possible Skype can be avoided using SIP
softphones like linphone.
