Hi, hal and solid both exist, hal is running and can see my battery. Everything looks normal from there as far as I can tell. My battery is BAT1, not BAT0. I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Seems most things I found on Google reference BAT0. Maybe I should try a KDE LiveCD to see if it can read battery. If it can, I will know for sure it's a simple configuration problem somewhere in my Gentoo installation.
