This is not the particular game itself, it's dosbox. I.e. when I start up dosbox, it says...

Audio works in linux Youtube, mplayer, mpg123, etc. It's just dosbox that fails. Google searching did not help. I saw a few references to checking for missing /dev/dsp and /dev/audio.
