I don't know if they are "trying" to control the way we live, but they can influence it by only making information they deem appropriate accessible in their searches. The Google ranking algos are de facto the lenses through which many people access a lot of information today (c. 70% global market share on searches). Google can obfuscate facts and limit our breadth of vision, but in most cases I suspect this is only a reflection of what their users are interested in. -- Regards, Mick
