Yes, it happens and usually resolves itself if you sync again half an
hour later. When an ebuild fails with no obvious cause at my end, I sync
again. If it still fails, I try with MAKEOPTS="-j1" (if that fixes it a
bug report is needed). Only then do I start digging into the build log.
