You haven't told us > why portage wants version 2.1.0, but have you tried remerging mupdf?
Sorry for the late answer --- I must have forgotten that I asked about this. I ended up removing mupdf, despite it seemed to be needed by llpp. However, llpp still works fine. -- Again we must be afraid of speaking of daemons for fear that daemons might swallow us. Finally, this fear has become reasonable.
