THX for your answer. That's also what I normally do in such a case but I was not sure if the systems keeps running when I remove udev. I will make a backup before I remove udev. Then I should be on the safe side. But I wonder why portage wanna change udev to eudev on my system. It seems that this is not the case for everyone else. I'm using a stable hardened gentoo system and did not change USE flags or other settings. Just started my regular update process. @R0b0t1: THX also for your answer. -- Regards wabe
