To present an alternative that I haven't seen mentioned in the thread: Evolution. - Fully featured (calendar, contacts, tasks, memos) - Oauth2 support - Exchange Web Services support - sane defaults - sqlite database storage (as opposed to Akonadi's mysql) - active community mailing list.
