Hi! If you just want to remove the adds from your recordings, i recommend ttcut at http://ttcut.tritime.org/ it is not in portage and depends on qt-4. Ttcut is able to cut frame accurately, so you can cut on I-, P- and B-Frames. I have written an ebuild, you will find it at http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122162. But you can also use the most recent version from svn under svn://svn.berlios.de/ttcut/trunk. Ttcut is in alpha state, so you may encounter problems too, but i think it is worth a try.
