All right, well you can prove with kernel 2.6.19 and 8.36 ati-drivers if you want to keep that kernel.

Yes, b.g.o has quite a few bugs open for ati-drivers related to 2.6.20, that's one of the reasons I want to keep 2.6.19 (besides having no good reason to update, that is).
