I have been using nfs for portage and distfiles with much success so far. I find that nfs access for portage is only a little slower than having it on a local, unoptimized partition. I save lots of time with this method, since my new hosts on the network have instant portage trees without having to wait for that long portage extraction. I mount /usr/portage read-only and then distfiles read-write over the top so that I can save new downloads if I need to. -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
