A friend of mine recently put a pdf on my pendrive using windows vista. When I plugged it into my laptop it wouldn't mount. I got the following output from dmesg:
sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] 1984000 512-byte hardware sectors (1016 MB) sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] Write Protect is off sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] Mode Sense: 03 00 00 00 sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] 1984000 512-byte hardware sectors (1016 MB) sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] Write Protect is off sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] Mode Sense: 03 00 00 00 sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through sdb: sdb1 Unable to identify CD-ROM format. Now when I put an SD card into the external card reader I get exacly the same problem even though the SD card has been nowhere near vista Any clues as to what is going on?
