[gentoo-user] madwifi "Stuck beacon" causes mpd to skip

Whenever I get the following message in dmesg:

wifi0: ath_bstuck_tasklet: Stuck beacon; resetting (beacon miss count: 11)

the music playing on mpd skips.  Does anyone know more about this?
