Well, having a local MTA has a number of advantages anyway. As a matter of fact, on this month's issue of a popular UK linux magazine there's an article (written by a well-known contributor to this list!) on how to configure that. Besides that, you'll find plenty of tutorials on the net. It's not too difficult, and postfix's default configuration helps with its sensible values.
