There seems to be no mention of the so-called "tipping points", such as the
Arctic sea ice disappearance, which pose a threat too immediate for emissions
reduction to counter.

We could ask two simple questions to the Poznan conference (1-12 December):

1. Is there an alternative to geoengineering to cool the Arctic region and save
the Arctic sea ice?

2. If not, isn't now the time to start putting geoengineering into practice,
before it's too late even for geoengineering?

Is there anybody who knows how to get such questions asked, at very short
notice?

And if the geoengineering is to start in the Arctic, should we not seek the
support of the Arctic Council? Albert, can you advise?

Cheers,

John

P.S. Might the appropriate time to raise the geoengineering issue be during
"statement of observers"
See http://www.cop14.gov.pl/files/Program_COP14.pdf

9. Statements by observer organizations

55. Representatives of intergovernmental organizations and non-governmental
organizations will be

invited to address the CMP. Further information will be made available.
