The Nature of the Problem

Dear All:
There is a different viewpoint from which
the nature of the problem is not that climate
is changing, but that the human population
of Earth is too close to its carrying capacity,
so that we cannot relocate to deal with the
coming change.

Further, there is a timescale of natural shrinkage
of population which resembles th4 reverse of the
curve by which we grew, but is slower both as a result
of current life expectancy, and goals for future
life expectancy.

I agree that geoengineering is part of the solution,
but the other part of the solution will need to be
population reduction. If you think that geoengineering
is a hard sell, try populastion reduction!

As a species in a Lamarckina phase of evolution (in which
we pass on to our descendants the fruits of all previous
generations learning), we will be able to teach future
humans to use their intelligence - if only we can get them
to survive from here to there.
