The other terms mentioned: 'solar radiation management', 'greenhouse gas remediation', 'atmospheric remediation' & 'climateengineering' all have their merits and doubtless their technical uses but at the end of the day something is needed which is more user-friendly.
Of course, crucially, terms are needed that the ordinary citizen can relate to. 'Earth systems adjustments' doesn't have quite the technical jargon ring of some of the other suggestions; for the person in the street it carries it's explanation along with it--we have disrupted some of the earth's systems and now we are going to try and adjust them back again. Also it covers the whole range of possibilities--painting your roof white is as much an earth system adjustment as marine cloud brightening or wrapping glaciers or sending up aerosols. BTW according to Kunzig and Broecker's 'Fixing Climate' Lackner's carbon scrubbing is not 'geoengineering'.
